Nintendo Switch Videogame Console
in a RTC setting
What's this all about?

Residential Treatment Centers (RTC's) are a tough place to be, for all involved. They can be life-changing, where one can develop essential skills to help navigate life better, though also a bit boring, among other things.
Introducing a game console into the mix can be both helpful or get things a bit messy. Intentionally choosing the right games, alongside appropriate usage of the system, can be important in aiding the therapeutic milieu. The Nintendo Switch console (with the next iteration around the corner), hosts a trove of affordable local co-operative and competitive indie titles that may help ease tension, build relationships, and provide a source of agency.
Much is to be considered, such as video game addiction, dopamine surges, conflicts that might arise,
and more, which is why there must be intentional guidelines when introducing the console.
This site is a work-in-process effort to help RTC's & parents find some games that may be a good fit.

What's an RTC? Generally, a RTC is a live-in healthcare facility that provides intensive therapy for individuals dealing with mental health issues, substance abuse, or behavioral problems. It offers 24/7 supervision, structured routines, and comprehensive care in a safe environment, often when outpatient treatments are insufficient.
The games listed on this site are solely recommendations & are based on opinion and experience. You are encouraged to further research games you feel may be a best fit. Youtube reviewers such as NintendoLife & SwitchUp are great for learning more about various titles.
Generally am trying to avoid games that have violence, or may cue those playing them.
