Nintendo Switch Videogame Console
in a RTC setting
What's this all about?

RTC's (Residential Treatment Centers) are live-in healthcare facilities that provide intensive therapy for individuals dealing with mental health issues, substance abuse, or behavioral problems. They generally offer 24/7 supervision, structured routines, and comprehensive care in safe environments. These environments can also be really stressful, for all involved.
Introducing a game console, specifically the Nintendo Switch console, into that sort of environment can be a way to introduce some form of play. This games may help ease tension in the milieu, build relationships, provide residents a source of agency, and introduce an easy way to build mastery. Intentionally choosing the right games, alongside appropriate usage of the system, can work as an aid in the therapeutic milieu (if done correctly, and adapts to current situations). At the same time, things can get a bit messy, as you are introducing a high-dopamine activity into a generally low-dopamine environment, so caution is advised on how the console may be implemented. (I hope to write a few blog posts in the future when time allows, on how to best implement a Nintendo Switch console in a RTC setting).
This site is a work-in-process effort, in hopes to help RTC's & parents find some games that may be a
good fit for who they care for.

The games listed on this site are solely recommendations & are based on opinion and experience. You are encouraged to further research games you feel may be a best fit. Youtube reviewers such as NintendoLife & SwitchUp are great for learning more about various titles. Please visit DekuDeals.com to see all current Nintendo e-shop sales. You can also filter by wireless multiplayer (couch co-op).
Generally am trying to avoid games that have violence, or may cue those playing them.
